Basketball Recap: Valley Christian Takes a Loss

Valley Christian lost against Priory back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Valley Christian Lions took a blow against the Priory Panthers, falling 106-46. The loss was the Lions' first of the season.

Despite the loss, Valley Christian still got an impressive performance from Jonathan Sandulyuk, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was James Shevchuck, who had five points and five rebounds.

Priory's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teddy Xanthopoulous, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, Xanthopoulous is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Balazs Nyikos was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Valley Christian fell to 2-1. As for Priory, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Valley Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 90-69 defeat against South Fork on the 7th. As for Priory, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-53 win against Stuart Hall on the 7th.
