Basketball Recap: Smithfield-Selma Takes a Loss

Smithfield-Selma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They took a blow against the Southern Wayne Saints, falling 57-9. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-3.

Southern Wayne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Azariah Jordan, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 13 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Jordan a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Myhirah Hunter, who went 5 for 7 to rack up 12 points and four steals.

Smithfield-Selma's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Southern Wayne, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.
