Walhalla fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the West Henderson Falcons 45-42. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Razorbacks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 186th in South Carolina, while the Falcons are ranked 473rd in North Carolina).

Walhalla got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Williams out in front who posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Jackson Smith was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zane McCraw, who earned seven points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrien Kuh, who had six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Walhalla's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for West Henderson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Walhalla wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 78-77 defeat against Landrum on the 29th. As for West Henderson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-47 victory against Broome on the 29th.
