Basketball Recap: Millersport Takes a Loss

After soaring to 62 points the game before, Millersport was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Liberty Union Lions and fell 80-23. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 663rd, while the Lions are ranked 226th).

Several Lakers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Raver, who posted three points in addition to 12 rebounds and four blocks. Raver is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lilly Atkinson, who scored nine points.

Millersport's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Liberty Union, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Coming up, Millersport will square off against Madison Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Liberty Union, they will challenge Whetstone at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
