Baseball Game Preview: Hobart Brickies vs. Lowell Red Devils

The Hobart Brickies will take on the Lowell Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lowell took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hobart, who comes in off a win.

Hobart took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Wheeler by a score of 12-7. The win continues a trend for the Brickies in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won four in a row.

Hobart got a massive performance out of Landon Koritko, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Koritko has become a key player for the Brickies: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Stafford, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Hobart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Lowell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to La Porte.

Gavin Gutierrez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one triple.

Lowell's loss dropped their record down to 8-13-1. As for Hobart, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Hobart beat Lowell 4-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Brickies repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
