Softball Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Oilers vs. Carman-Ainsworth Cavaliers

The Mt. Pleasant Oilers will square off against the Carman-Ainsworth Cavaliers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mt. Pleasant has four straight victories, Carman-Ainsworth has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Mt. Pleasant made easy work of Bay City Western and carried off an 11-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Oilers, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Carman-Ainsworth fell victim to Dow and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 15-0 to the Chargers.

Mt. Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Carman-Ainsworth, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.

Everything went Mt. Pleasant's way against Carman-Ainsworth when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Mt. Pleasant made off with a 22-2 win. Do the Oilers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
