Football Recap: Shepherd Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Despite a strong season so far, Shepherd has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were outmatched by the Silsbee Tigers and fell 48-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Jacaleb Johnson was his usual excellent self, throwing for 124 yards and four TDs on only 11 passes, while also punching in one score on the ground for Silsbee. Those four passing touchdowns gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Corde Wilson, who rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown.

Shepherd's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Silsbee, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-3.

Shepherd has already played their next matchup, a 35-24 loss against Columbia on the 14th. As for Silsbee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 48-27 victory against Sweeny on the 13th.
