Softball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 18-3 to the Vale Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 20-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Vale, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Riverside will challenge rival Enterprise/Joseph at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Vale is set to square off against their familiar foe McLoughlin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
