Basketball Recap: Towle Institute Starts off Right with Win over Cumberland Christian

Towle Institute had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Cumberland Christian Crusaders with a sharp 66-42 win on Tuesday. Towle Institute has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Cumberland Christian, too.

Despite the loss, Cumberland Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Julian Marquez posted 11 points.

Cumberland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Towle Institute will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greenwood Mennonite at 5:30 p.m. on the 19th. As for Cumberland Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Wilberforce at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
