Softball Recap: Winters Comes Up Short

Winters had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 16-1 to the Bangs Dragons. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Winters saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Yanez, who went a perfect1-for-1 with one RBI.

Even though they lost, Winters was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Bangs and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, Winters will be taking part in a tournament against Clyde at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bangs, they will take on San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy in a tournament on Friday.
