Softball Preview: Summit Storm vs. Caldera
Summit is 1-9 against Caldera since May of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Storm will face off against Caldera at 4:30 p.m. Summit has given up an average of 13.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Summit lost 15-1 to Crook County on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Caldera didn't have quite enough to beat Ridgeview on Tuesday and fell 4-3. The loss was Caldera's first of the season.
Brooke Chapin was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
