Flag Football Game Preview: West Hills Wolf Pack vs. El Capitan Vaqueros

The West Hills Wolf Pack will take on the El Capitan Vaqueros at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, it was close, but West Hills sidestepped El Cajon Valley for a 20-18 win.

The critical scores for West Hills came from Gizelle Fort, Alexis Nelson, and Deanna Khalil.

West Hills was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

West Hills didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Elleigh Hernandez and Ella Moutaw. Hernandez also set a new season-high mark in defended passes with four.

Meanwhile, El Capitan blew past El Cajon Valley, posting a 42-6 victory. Considering the Vaqueros have won five contests by more than 21 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

West Hills better keep an eye on Kylee Frazier. She was instrumental in El Capitan's win, throwing for 190 yards and three TDs while completing 73.7% of her passes, and also rushing for 76 yards and one score on only six carries. Gabriella Jackson was another key player, gaining 105 total yards and a touchdown.

El Capitan's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. In that department, Audra Guillory was the leader with three sacks. Guillory is crushing it when it comes to sacks: she's posted at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

The win made it two in a row for El Capitan and bumps their season record up to 8-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 points in those games. As for West Hills, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
