Basketball Game Preview: Williams Vikings vs. Mogollon Mustangs

Williams hasn't had much luck against Mogollon recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Williams Vikings just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Mogollon Mustangs at 5:30 p.m.

Williams is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 58 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Joseph City on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Wildcats and fell 74-11. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Mogollon hadn't done well against St. Johns recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Mogollon came out on top against St. Johns by a score of 38-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Mogollon's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31 points. As for Williams, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

Things could have been worse for Williams, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 41-25 loss to Mogollon in their previous matchup back in December of 2023.
