Volleyball Recap: North Chicago Comes Up Short

North Chicago was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Zee-Bees this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on May 7th.

While North Chicago was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-22.

Jose Vences paced North Chicago's offense, picking up eight kills. Vences got some help from Justin Ayala and his ten assists.

North Chicago's loss dropped their record down to 1-26. As for Zion-Benton, their win bumped their record up to 9-26.

North Chicago wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against New Trier on the 26th. As for Zion-Benton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Mundelein on the 26th.
