Baseball Recap: Manor Takes a Loss

Manor had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-12 to make it four. They lost 10-0 to the Gloucester Dukes. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 12-0 to the Dukes when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Gloucester, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For Gloucester's part, Manor's batters probably weren't too happy with Brayden Scott, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up zero walks). Scott has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hank Hardaway was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Landon Morris also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manor will challenge Lake Taylor at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Gloucester, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Heritage at 4:30 p.m. The Hurricanes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.5 runs per game on average), something the Dukes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
