Volleyball Recap: Immanuel Christian Comes Up Short

Immanuel Christian lost against Hanks back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Warriors fell 3-1 to the Knights.

While Immanuel Christian ultimately came up short, they really made Hanks work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 11-25, 25-13, 28-26.

When it comes to explaining why Immanuel Christian lost, don't look at Yareli Lopez. Despite the final result, she had 19 digs and one assist. With that strong performance, Lopez is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

Leading Hanks to victory were Sarai Flores and Sofia Nevarez. Flores had 22 digs and three assists, while Nevarez had ten digs and three aces. Flores has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

Immanuel Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Hanks, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-18.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Immanuel Christian will take on Loretto at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hanks, they will welcome Del Valle at 6:35 p.m. on Friday.
