Softball Recap: Samson Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Samson and New Brockton have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Tigers lost 19-10 to the Gamecocks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gamecocks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-9 back in February.

Ally Zorn was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Camilla Yanez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Samson's record now sits at 4-12. As for New Brockton, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Samson will head out to face off against Pleasant Home at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for New Brockton, they will challenge Ariton at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
