Football Game Recap: Argenta-Oreana vs. Decatur Lutheran/Decatur Christian

Argenta-Oreana won the last time they met up with Decatur Lutheran/Decatur Christian, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. Argenta-Oreana took the contest and then some with a 44-8 win on Friday over Decatur Lutheran/Decatur Christian. Followers of Argenta-Oreana probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.

The matchup started off well for Argenta-Oreana, whose offense put up 36 first-half points. Meanwhile, Decatur Lutheran/Decatur Christian couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 36-0 heading into the break. The Argenta-Oreana defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 8 and all but finishing the match. The victory bumped Argenta-Oreana's record up to 5-0. The defeat dropped Decatur Lutheran/Decatur Christian's record to 2-3.

Argenta-Oreana will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Cerro Gordo/Bement. Each team will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Argenta-Oreana skips in on five wins and Cerro Gordo/Bement on three. As for Decatur Lutheran/Decatur Christian, they will face off against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous game, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
