Basketball Game Preview: Panguitch Bobcats vs. Wayne Badgers

The Panguitch Bobcats will head out to face off against the Wayne Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Panguitch is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Beaver just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a blow against the Beavers, falling 66-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bobcats have suffered since December 6, 2024.

Meanwhile, Wayne played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 71-51 to Kanab. The Badgers have struggled against the Cowboys recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Panguitch will have to contain AJ VanDyke as she made an impact in Wayne's last game. She went 10 for 19 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and eight rebounds. The game was VanDyke's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Makayla Jones, who posted 13 points.

Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Panguitch, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.

Panguitch strolled past Wayne in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 52-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Panguitch since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
