Football Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Martin County's Winning Streak

Martin County and South Fork squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Martin County had to settle for second. They fell 7-0 to the Bulldogs. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Calista Scornavacca threw for 151 yards while completing 73.3% of her passes. Anna Staten was her top target, picking up 42 receiving yards.

Savannah Tatum had another great game (as she tends to do), picking up 35 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 68 yards on only seven carries for South Fork.

Martin County moved to 13-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for South Fork, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1.

Martin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Fork, they will take on Seminole Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bulldogs 5.1, the Hawks 9.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
