Softball Recap: Sparkman Beats Spain Park for Their Third Straight Win

Sparkman took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Spain Park, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Sparkman narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Spain Park 7-5. The victory was nothing new for the Senators as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Eden Parker, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Bella Mayfield was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Sparkman's record is now 17-6-1. As for Spain Park, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Sparkman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-4 win against Auburn on the 21st. As for Spain Park, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Vestavia Hills at 5:00 p.m. on April 1. Vestavia Hills will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Spain Park surely won't give up without a fight.
