Softball Recap: Ridley Comes Up Short

Ridley had lost six straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 5-9 to make it seven. They lost 10-0 to the Haverford Fords. Considering the last time the Raiders couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Haverford, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

For Haverford's part, Ali Daly made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Daly has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Lucy Ardizzi was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Maya Hubley was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Ridley will be playing at home against Villa Maria Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Haverford, they are taking a road trip to challenge Plymouth Whitemarsh at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
