Coral Reef put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They didn't even let the Palmetto Panthers on the board, marking the Barracudas' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Barracudas haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Quinley Wylie made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brianna Fields, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Aliyah Quinones also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Coral Reef always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .524 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Coral Reef's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.7 runs. As for Palmetto, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-12 record.

Coming up, Coral Reef will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Verot at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Barracudas 2, the Vikings 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Palmetto, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Dade on the 29th.
