Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Bountiful

Bountiful entered their tilt with Skyline on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 5-2. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 9-8 victory on Wednesday.

Quintin Garff tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Tait Caldwell was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Boedi Crandall also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bountiful hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyline struck out seven times.

Bountiful's record now sits at 10-11. As for Skyline, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 16 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Bountiful will challenge Alta at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Skyline, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Viewmont at 4:00 p.m. on May 4.
