Baseball Recap: Massac County Gets the Win

On Friday Massac County's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sparta Bulldogs, sneaking past 5-3. Five seems to be a good number for the Patriots as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Jennings, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Adan Mizell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Massac County's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Sparta, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Massac County will venture away from home to face off against Murray at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sparta, they will head out to take on Valmeyer at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Sparta's pitchers better be ready for this one: Valmeyer has averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
