Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sparta). They put the hurt on the Black River Falls Tigers with a sharp 73-50 victory on Tuesday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-17.

Elexa Jones was a one-woman wrecking crew for Sparta as she went 8 of 13 on her way to 20 points and six boards. Lily Seifert was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 12 points and five assists.

Sparta was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Sparta's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-11. As for Black River Falls, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Sparta will host Viroqua at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Black River Falls, they are taking a road trip to square off against Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
