Basketball Recap: Gold Beach Comes Up Short

Gold Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 56-24 loss at the hands of the Oakland Oakers. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Oakers are ranked 42nd).

Gold Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Oakland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oakland, they will square off against Myrtle Point at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
