Softball Game Preview: Firelands Falcons vs. Salem Quakers

The Firelands Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Salem Quakers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Firelands has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Firelands fell victim to Columbia and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 17-0 to the Raiders. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Salem didn't have quite enough to beat Hubbard on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The Quakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Firelands has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.
