The South Sumter Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Nature Coast Tech Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Sumter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, South Sumter needed a bit of extra time to put away Hernando. They came out on top against the Leopards by a score of 8-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Raven Parker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Parker was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddox Adams, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Emily Barnes was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

South Sumter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Nature Coast Tech's offense. They came up short against Lecanto on Tuesday, falling 6-0. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Sumter's record is now 12-6. As for Nature Coast Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

South Sumter beat Nature Coast Tech 9-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
