League recap: Taylor dominating on the mound for McCreary Central

District 48 league recap: 5/21/12

Zack Taylor was the best pitcher in District 48 this week, leading McCreary Central. Over the past week, he had one win and one Ks.

Alex Barnett was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .353 average with three RBIs. Meanwhile, the Raiders put together a 0-4 week.

McCreary Central's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 31 hits and 14 walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, the Raiders have allowed just 213 hits, while striking out 125 batters. Barnett leads the Raiders with 45 strikeouts in 47 innings pitched.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Tony Trammell, who turned in five Ks for McCreary Central. With 29 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks second in the league.

The Raiders' Arron Brown finished his week with nine hits, tops in the league. His 35 hits for the year are first in the league, and he boasts a .368 batting average.
