Basketball Recap: Westlake Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Westlake can now relate to. They were beaten by the Parkside Rams 59-18 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Rams are ranked 46th).

Parkside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from RonNie White, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ta'Layah Clark, who scored 15 points.

Westlake moved to 10-14 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Parkside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parkside, they have already played their next matchup, a 62-37 loss against Francis Scott Key on the 11th.
