Monmouth Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Spruce Mountain on Wednesday. The Mustangs never let the Phoenix get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Monmouth Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Spruce Mountain, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
