Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Comes Up Short

Covenant Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Ottawa Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 12-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Covenant Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Schimmel, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was J.D. Schimmel, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Covenant Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-19. As for West Ottawa, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 20-14 record.

While Covenant Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
