Basketball Game Preview: Tampa Prep Terrapins vs. Tampa Catholic Crusaders

Tampa Prep is 2-8 against Tampa Catholic since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tampa Prep Terrapins will venture away from home to challenge the Tampa Catholic Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. Tampa Prep is coming into the match hot, having won their last 15 games.

Last Wednesday, Tampa Prep made easy work of East Bay and carried off a 63-43 victory. The Terrapins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.

Tampa Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaii Levy, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 boards. J'London Bivens was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven rebounds and six steals.

Meanwhile, Tampa Catholic came up short against Berkeley Prep on Friday and fell 70-63.

Tampa Prep will have to contain Colby Cannizzaro as he made an impact in Tampa Catholic's last game. He went 8 of 12 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points. That's the most points Cannizzaro has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Campbell-Finch, who posted 14 points.

Tampa Prep pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home. As for Tampa Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Tampa Prep beat Tampa Catholic 62-50 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Tampa Catholic's Willie Piggott, who went 8 for 18 on his way to 21 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.
