Recap: Linton-Stockton Miners vs. Roncalli Royals
It was a good run, but the Linton-Stockton Miners unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 36-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roncalli. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Linton-Stockton has scored all season.
Leading Roncalli to victory were Taylor Turk and Claire Lindsey. Turk scored ten points along with nine rebounds, while Lindsey scored nine points along with six rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Rosko, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Linton-Stockton's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4. As for Roncalli, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Linton-Stockton is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Ben Davis at 10:00 a.m. on December 27th. Roncalli will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Plainfield at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Plainfield is ranked 47th, while Roncalli is ranked 51st).
