Strongsville had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.4 points) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Thursday. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-48 W against the Western Reserve Academy Pioneers. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Pioneers are ranked 29th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Western Reserve Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Hall, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points and six boards. Jordyn Steindl was another key player, going 5-for-12 on her way to 11 points and five rebounds.

Strongsville pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points over those games. As for Western Reserve Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-8.

Looking ahead, Strongsville will face off against Elyria at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Western Reserve Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-55 win against Hudson on the 14th.
