Baseball Recap: Evansville Reitz Comes Up Short

Evansville Reitz was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Evansville Central Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 4-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Evansville Reitz saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keagan Hauke, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Evansville Reitz's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Evansville Central, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Evansville Reitz is set to take on their familiar foe Evansville Mater Dei at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Evansville Central will square off against rival Evansville North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
