Baseball Recap: Howards Grove Sets Scoring Season-High Against Manitowoc Lutheran

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Howards Grove). They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won four in a row.

Braven Wilson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Mason Scharl was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Howards Grove's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Manitowoc Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Howards Grove will square off against Kohler at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Bombers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Manitowoc Lutheran, they will take on Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Lancers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
