Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Green County's Fourth in Last Five Outings

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Green County and Larue County meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Dragons came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 5-2. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Hawks back in April, they had to take a 5-0 loss.

Tatum Durrett tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Houk, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times he's played.

Green County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Larue County, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-8-1.

As of now, neither Green County nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
