            Basketball Recap: Pioneer Patriots vs. Winters Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Pioneer). They took down the Winters Warriors 67-53  on Wednesday. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

 Pioneer found their leader in sophomore  Melvir Pooni, who  went 11 for 19  on his way to 29  points in addition to seven  rebounds and five  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most  points  Pooni has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Emiliano Romero, who  posted nine points and five  rebounds.
 Winters lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   Luke Felsen, who  went 7 of 17  on his way to 18 points along with five  rebounds and three  steals.  Koa Branco was another key player,  going 5 of 12  on his way to 15 points and three  steals.
Pioneer's record is now 3-5. As for Winters, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Pioneer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  61-50  loss against Woodland Christian on the 12th. As for Winters, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  game,  a  66-35  victory against Woodland on the 12th.
