Baseball Game Preview: Brevard HEAT Firehawks vs. Cocoa Tigers

The Brevard HEAT Firehawks will venture away from home to square off against the Cocoa Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Brevard HEAT and 22 for Cocoa dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, Brevard HEAT didn't have quite enough to beat Calvary Chapel Academy and fell 6-4.

Brevard HEAT saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brycen Harmon, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Braden Harmon also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Cocoa lost 23-1 to Space Coast on Thursday.

Brevard HEAT's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Cocoa, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Cocoa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brevard HEAT has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. It's a different story for Cocoa, though, as they've only averaged .350. Will they be able to contain Brevard HEAT's hitters?

Brevard HEAT took their win against Cocoa in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 34-3. Will Brevard HEAT repeat their success, or does Cocoa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
