Baseball Recap: Downingtown East Comes Up Short

Downingtown East lost against East back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cougars fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Downingtown East and nudges their season record down to 8-6. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for East, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Downingtown East will take on rival Avon Grove at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, East is set to challenge their familiar foe Bishop Shanahan at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
