Basketball Recap: Caden Edmond's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central over Mcbee

Central lost against McBee back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Central Eagles fell 71-61 to the McBee Panthers. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly ten points.

Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Edmond, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Edmond a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Tazhir Webber, who posted 16 points and three steals.

Leading McBee to victory were Hayden Griggs and Jakari Holloman. Griggs dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards, while Holloman dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Tyrek Wright was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for McBee, their record is now 8-2.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 81-79 win against Hartsville on the 27th. As for McBee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-53 victory against Lee Central on the 27th.
