Basketball Recap: Page County Takes a Loss

Page County lost against Madison County back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Page County Panthers fell 56-45 to the Madison County Mountaineers. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Madison County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Mclearen, who posted ten points and five boards. Isaiah Humphrey was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 17 points.

Page County's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Madison County, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Page County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 82-18 defeat against Skyline on the 21st. After both having extra time off, Madison County and Luray will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd. Luray is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season.
