Johansen is 6-1 against Hughson since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Johansen Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Hughson Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Johansen will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Los Banos, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Johansen came out on top against Los Banos by a score of 69-62 on Tuesday. While the Vikings didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Ivan Martinez was his usual excellent self, putting up 19 points. Another player making a difference was Wilbert Gaxiola, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, Hughson narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Central Valley 66-63. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Hughson found their leader in freshman Karam Kang, who went 10 of 14 on his way to 25 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of James Seay, who had eight points in addition to 12 rebounds and seven assists.

Hughson pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Johansen, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Johansen was able to grind out a solid victory over Hughson when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 69-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Johansen since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
