Turpin is 0-5 against Ursuline Academy since August of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Spartans will face off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Turpin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Bellefontaine.
While Turpin won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16, 25-23.

Turpin can attribute much of their success to Mallory Thorn, who had seven digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Thorn a new career-high in assists (six).
Carroll typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Ursuline Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Patriots 3-0.
The final score came out to 25-19, 25-9, 25-13.
Turpin better focus on containing Mackenzie Higgins and Madison Moine as the pair were huge in Ursuline Academy's win. Higgins had five digs and four aces, while Moine had five digs and two aces.
Ursuline Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matchups.
Turpin's record now sits at 17-8. As for Ursuline Academy, their record is now 18-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Turpin has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 11 aces per game. However, it's not like Ursuline Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Turpin came up short against Ursuline Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
