Softball Recap: Worthington Kilbourne Comes Up Short

Worthington Kilbourne was the 15-9 winner over Westerville South when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Thursday. The Wolves just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Scarlett Elder made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Belle Fetters also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Worthington Kilbourne's record now sits at 8-10. As for Westerville South, the win snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 3-14 record.

Coming up, Worthington Kilbourne will welcome Centerburg at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Westerville South, they will take on New Albany at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
