Mendon had already won 17 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 18 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Climax-Scotts Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since June 13, 2025.

Rowan Allen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last six games. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mendon let Taya Bingaman and Jadyn Samson run wild. Bingaman went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Samson went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Bingaman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Cienna Nightingale was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Mendon's win bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Climax-Scotts, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-2.

Coming up, Mendon will welcome Union City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Climax-Scotts, they will face off against Parchment at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
