Football Recap: Weir Takes a Loss

Weir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 26-19 to the East Liverpool Potters. The Red Riders lost against the Potters in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 45-7 score last time.

East Liverpool's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Meshach Harris led the charge by throwing for 242 yards and one touchdown on only 14 passes, while also rushing for 58 yards and one score. Harris also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making nine total tackles and defending one pass. East Liverpool's leading receiver Dre'Keim Abercrombie was Harris' top target yet again, picking up 111 receiving yards and one TD.

Weir's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for East Liverpool, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.

Weir didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 34-6 defeat against Albert Gallatin on the 24th. As for East Liverpool, they have also already played their next game, a 34-22 loss against Oak Glen on the 24th.
