Basketball Recap: Haynes Academy Takes a Loss

Haynes Academy was the 50-41 winner over Morris Jeff when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Haynes Academy fell 57-46 to the Morris Jeff Pelicans on Tuesday.

Morris Jeff's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jermonce Grayson, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Bridges, who went 6 of 10 en route to 13 points.

Haynes Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Morris Jeff, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-7.

Haynes Academy has already played their next matchup, a 45-29 victory against Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy on the 17th. As for Morris Jeff, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-42 loss against Willow on the 17th.
